Omaha’s award-winning author ALEX KAVA and mystery author JEFF ABBOTT will be the featured guests at Omaha Public Library’s 9th annual MAYHEM IN THE MIDLANDS conference.  More than 150 fans and aspiring writers are expected to attend the four day conference where they will have the chance to mingle with mystery authors DONNA ANDREWS, SEAN DOOLITTLE and 40 other published authors.  A “CRIME LAB/CRIME SCENE TRACK” has been added on Friday and the panel discussions will include real-life experts.  In addition to the panel discussions, there will also be an opening reception buffet, an auction and a mystery dinner.  MAYHEM IN THE MIDLANDS runs from May 22nd through May 25th and registration is required. 


Film Streams’ current repertory series is EUROPEAN 60’s.  Federico Fellini’s LA DOLCE VITA and Michael Powell’s PEEPING TOM are the featured movies today through Thursday, May 22nd.  Show times vary and all screenings take place in the Ruth Sokoloff Theatre at 13th and Webster Streets. 


Film Streams’ current repertory series is EUROPEAN 60’s.  Milos Forman’s LOVES OF A BLONDE and Michelangelo Antonioni’s BLOW-UP are the featured movies May 23rd through the 29th.  Show times vary and all screenings take place in the Ruth Sokoloff Theatre at 13th and Webster Streets. 


The Omaha Farmer’s Market  runs every Saturday through October 11th, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  The Market offers the city’s best selection of farm-fresh produce and meats as well as specialty items.  The selection includes gourmet prepared foods, cut flowers, bedding plants, handmade jewelry and more.  The Omaha Farmer’s Market is located at 11th and Jackson Streets in the Old Market. 


The IMAX Theatre is presenting SEA MONSTERS 3D daily at 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.  The film highlights the complexity of life in Earth’s oceans.  DOLPHINS AND WHALES 3D: TRIBES OF THE OCEAN is screened at 11:00 a.m., 1:00 and 3:00 p.m.  The movie takes you from the coral reefs of the Bahamas to the exotic Kingdom of Tonga for a close encounter with the surviving tribes of the ocean.  WILD OCEAN 3D: WHERE AFRICA MEETS THE SEA shows daily at 12:00, 2:00 and 4:00 p.m.  The IMAX Theatre is located at the Henry Doorly Zoo.
