The Omaha Symphony’s Pops series concludes with A TRIBUTE TO JOHN WILLIAMS today through Sunday at the Holland Performing Arts Center.  One of the most popular and successful modern American composers, Williams has composed the music for nearly 80 films, including Superman, Raiders of the Lost Ark and Harry Potter & the Sorcerer’s Stone.  You can join Maestro Thomas Wilkins and the orchestra as they pay tribute to this 17-time Grammy Award winner.  The curtain goes up at 8:00 p.m. today and Saturday and at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.  The Holland Center is located at 13th and Douglas Streets. 


The Westminster Concert Bell Choir from Westminster Choir College of Rider University will perform on Tuesday, May 20th at 7:00 p.m. at Countryside Community Church.  Conducted by Kathleen Ebling-Thorne, the concert is part of the ensemble’s 30th-anniversary tour.  Their program will feature original works composed for handbells and arrangements of classics and hymn tunes.  Countryside Community Church is located at 8787 Pacific Street. 


The Nebraska Jazz Orchestra will present their final concert of the season, A SALUTE TO RUSS LONG, on Friday, May 23rd at 7:30 p.m. in the Embassy Suites Hotel in Lincoln.  The evening’s musical selections include “Can City” and “Parallel” by Russ Long and “Sugar” by Stanley Turrentine.  The Embassy Suites is located at 1040 ‘P’ Street in Lincoln. 


The Omaha Symphony’s CASUAL CLASSICS series wraps up on Saturday, May 24h with a PATRIOTIC PARADE.  The performance will feature music from some of America’s most well-known composers, including Copland, Sousa, Ellington and Bernstein.  The program takes place at 7:30 p.m. in the Holland Center, at 13th and Douglas Streets.  Ernest Richardson conducts.
