| Local authors Teresa Carmody & Anna Monardo in discussion: “Reissued Books of Fiction: Is There Value for the Reader, the Writer, or Both?” Carmody’s reissued book is REQUIEM, a short-story collection described as “a folk opera, a lament for the unexamined life.” REQUIEM is reissued by Punctum, a queer- and scholar-led Diamond Open Access press, as part of their Special Collections project to republish, in beautifully designed print and open access editions. Monardo’s novel, THE COURTYARD OF DREAMS, was originally published in 1993 by Doubleday and is reissued by Bordighera Press, which publishes literature and scholarship of the Italian diaspora. COURTYARD is a companion read with Monardo’s AFTER ITALY: A FAMILY MEMOIR OF ARRANGED MARRIAGE. |
