Vesper Concerts presents Bel Canto Duo

Our February performers are Darci Gamirl and David Downing, known as The Bel Canto Duo.

Darci is an oboe and English horn specialist, composer, and producer who performs as a soloist and orchestral musician with various orchestras and national touring productions.

David is a Grammy-nominated cellist and sought-after recording artist. After extensive classical music studies at such prestigious schools as the Interlochen Arts Academy, the Harid Conservatory of Music, and the Cleveland Institute of Music, David walked away from the classical orchestral world—and the cello. Thanks to loving, supportive family and friends and his passion for creating music, David started performing again and never looked back.

Darci and David formed the Bel Canto Duo in 2016. The duo was awarded Outstanding New Artist by the Omaha Entertainment Awards (2023) and was a finalist (American Prize) for chamber music composition and the Ernst Bacon Prive for the performance of American music.

The Bel Canto Duo’s concert is entitled “Visions of Love,” a fitting theme for a concert near Valentine’s Day. The concert is free, and everyone is invited to attend. Stay after the concert for cookies!
