Host of Sunday night Nocturnes

My first radio job was at my hometown station, when I was 17. I have never been away from the communication business since. I have been a news reporter, public relations director, television news assignment editor, radio news director, TV newsroom supervisor, producer and executive producer, before coming to KVNO in 2019 as general manager. I am also a professor in the University of Nebraska at Omaha School of Communication, where I have taught journalism and broadcasting for 25 years. Prior to that I taught at the University of North Dakota and University of Missouri. My love of classical music began in junior and senior high band, in which I held and occasionally played a baritone horn, and choir. Although I stopped inflicting myself on band directors after high school, I have been able to sing in choirs at UNO. I have had the pleasure of performing Handel’s Messiah and the Brahms Ein Deutsch Requiem with the Heartland Symphony, and the Requiem and Beethoven’s Symphony Number Nine with the Omaha Symphony.
