Her work balances a practical aim of everyday enjoyment with a creative pursuit of bold\, statement-making pieces. \nInspired by nature and the people around her\, Lynette creates one-of-a-kind works that connect to personal stories and the spaces they inhabit. Drawn to eclectic environments\, she explores how art can reflect individuality while bringing beauty and meaning into daily life. With a deep passion for color\, texture\, gardens\, teaching\, and lifelong learning\, this exhibit invites viewers to experience art as both a personal and shared journey—one that inspires\, connects\, and evolves. \nAbout the Artist \nLynette Fast brings over 38 years of experience as both an artist and educator\, working with students from preschoolers to adults. Her lifelong dedication to teaching has deeply shaped her creative practice\, offering her unique insight into both the process of making art and the art of teaching itself. \nLynette works across a wide range of mediums\, including jewelry making\, metalsmithing\, painting\, drawing\, sculpture\, and pottery. Her diverse practice reflects a curiosity and openness that continues to evolve through exploration and lifelong learning. \nShe has exhibited her work regionally for over 17 years and is currently represented in five galleries. Lynette’s work has appeared in numerous exhibitions throughout Nebraska. Free for garden members. \nArtist Statement \nAs a flower artist who is inspired by what is growing seasonally along the shores of the Missouri River in Omaha\, Nebraska\, I’ve appreciated deepening a connection with the natural shifts of time in nature by tuning into what is blooming locally. Pressing flowers has become a deeply intentional practice in noticing these gifts around us. \nThis series of pressed and framed flora pieces finds stems\, leaves\, blooms\, petals\, and pods puzzle pieced together\, swirling and moving with one another. \nYou may notice words and recognizable shapes\, like hearts or the word “LOVE\,” created by the form and shape each plant element offers. The flora represented comes from as close as our personal garden\, native prairie plants\, and local flower farms\, and as distant as commercial flower farms in South America. \nEach is precious — I’ve grown to see each one as a poem of gratitude to our natural world. In addition to their digital camera\, macro lenses are required\, like the following: 105mm\, 100mm\, 90mm\, 85mm\, 55mm\, or any other macro lens\, including zoom macro lenses. A monopod is helpful\, but not required. Course fee is $30\, garden members receive 20% off. Pre-registration is required.
