DESCRIPTION:Bring 2 poems: one of your own\, one by another poet (friend\, favorite song lyrics\, etc.) for this open mic reading run by Castle and Cathedral Creative District Artist in Residence Matt Mason. Both poems should make us feel and/or understand some kind of experience\, story\, etc. You have 5 minutes\, after which the Botswanan goat bell of Doom will sound. \nAll of us have poems that reach us\, though often we don’t call them just poems; we call them song lyrics\, rap lyrics\, cowboy poetry\, slam poetry\, Dr. Seuss\, Shel Silverstein. SUMMARY:Heavier Than Air
DESCRIPTION:Dream Sequence is a new performance and video installation by Heavier Than Air. For one night only\, the Carriage House will host an experimental ensemble presenting video art by Shawn Ballarin with a live soundtrack performed by musicians. \nHeavier than Air is an experimental ensemble creating video art\, live movement\, and original soundtracks. Embracing a lo-fi aesthetic\, the group combines animation\, props\, costumes\, and live performance to emphasize human presence and the material process. \nThe evening features an immersive video installation from 5–8 PM\, with two live 30-minute performances at 6 PM and 7 PM. \nThey have presented work at a wide variety of venues including Nebraska Wesleyan University\, the Rybin Room\, the Zoo Bar\, Joslyn Castle\, and the Lincoln Exposed Music Festival. \nHeavier Than Air website: Heavier Than Air | teseo \nDream Sequence is made possible by creative district programmatic support from the Nebraska Arts Council.
