From Stage to Leadership: Alex Rodriguez, Co-Artistic Director at OCP
February 23rd, 2024
Alex Rodriguez holds the role of co-artistic director at Omaha’s community playhouse. His journey in the arts began as an actor and singer before expanding into the realm of education. As time progressed, Rodriguez’s career took him to various large-scale productions across the country and even to the high seas.
Joining the OCP team in October of last year, Rodriguez made his directorial debut with the play “Clyde”. Now, the theater is gearing up for the premiere of “Cabaret”, a production that Rodriguez describes as a dream come true. He highlights that “Cabaret” holds a coveted spot on the bucket list of nearly every director.
This production of “Cabaret” features the 1998 version of the show, directed by Sam Mendes. As OCP approaches its 100th season, it stands as one of the largest community theaters in the country, serving both a wide audience and a vibrant community of artists.
“Cabaret” kicks off today and will run until March 30 at the Howard Dew Hall. For further details, visit OmahaCommunityPlayhouse.com.
