Omaha Performing Arts has curated an exciting 2024 season, brimming with a diverse range of events aimed at connecting with and captivating the local community. These engaging experiences provide children with an immersive journey into the vibrant world of Hip Hop culture, fostering an inclusive space for artistic expression and skill development.

In these dynamic camps, young participants have the chance to explore DJing, dance, MCing, and visual arts classes, nurturing their creativity across various aspects of Hip Hop. Sylvia Stone, Communications Manager at Omaha Performing Arts, sees these labs as safe havens for kids aged 6 to 12 to discover and embrace Hip Hop culture.

A notable highlight of the season is the Hip Hop Lab, which offers an array of workshops, performances, cultural discussions, and camps. Additionally, there are unique educational opportunities for children to spend a day with Broadway actors from The Lion King, providing a rare glimpse into the world of theater—an experience Stone considers particularly special for Omaha.

Moreover, Omaha Performing Arts has partnered with The Nebraska Chinese Association to present diverse events celebrating the Lunar New Year, adding cultural richness to the lineup. And let’s not forget the stellar Broadway shows, comedy acts, and concerts scheduled at venues like the Orpheum, The Holland Center, and the Steel House.
