March 8th, 2024

Meet Theodore Wheeler, a gifted local writer renowned for his compelling narratives like “Kings of Broken Things” and “In Our Other Lives.” Last November, he graced the literary world with his newest creation, “The War Began in Paris.” This gripping literary noir delves into the intertwined destinies of two female World War II correspondents as they navigate the landscapes of Europe.

Wheeler’s journey into the world of writing began at a tender age, fueled by a passion that has only grown stronger over the years. Alongside his roles as a full-time professor at Creighton University and co-owner of Dundee Book Company with his wife, Wheeler leads a vibrant life, seamlessly balancing his commitments with his creative endeavors. Drawing inspiration from the local milieu, Wheeler infuses his writing with the essence of the community he calls home.

With the release of “The War Began in Paris” in November 2023, Wheeler embarked on a nationwide book tour, an opportunity that both humbled and delighted him. Reflecting on this experience, Wheeler acknowledges the tour as one of the highlights of his writing career.
