On December 14, 1969, in preparation for that year’s Christmas celebrations, Leota Sneed Strong conducted the first concert where “Voices of Omaha” presented Handle’s Messiah. The concert took place at the Civic Center which was located on Capital Street near downtown Omaha. Sharon Struve, a Charter member of the Voice of Omaha has been singing there ever since.
