Christian icons have served as “Windows into Heaven” for nearly 2,000 years. Iconography begins with prayer and is executed with the sense that the seven days of creation are being represented in the artistic endeavor. This workshop is an instruction in icon writing in the Byzantine-Russian tradition. Its objective is the completion of one icon, provided attendance for full six (6) days and the completion of daily assignments as allocated by the instructor.
