“Legacies of the war & Holocaust in postwar French painting” by Alexandra Cardon Paige Michaud, flute; music by Franics Poulenc, Olivier Messiaen & Jehan Alain
Paige’s will present a program by French composers who were themselves banned and/or imprisoned by the Nazis: an unpublished short solo work by Messiaen, an unaccompanied work by Poulenc (a lost manuscript composed in 1942 but undiscovered until 1997), and an unaccompanied piece by Alain.
