UNO’s Our Stories Showcase

Everyone has a story to tell, and everyone deserves a safe space where their story can be heard. By sharing Our Stories in the unique shapes they take, we learn about each other, about ourselves, and about our UNO community as a whole. The College of Communication, Fine Arts, and Media (CFAM) invites you to join us as we celebrate every voice in every way—from visual art of all mediums, performance art, written and spoken word, podcasts, dance performances, videography, musical/vocal pieces, presentations, monologues, and more. Join us for Our Stories: April 23, 2024, in the Strauss Performing Arts Lobby and Recital Hall from 11:00am-2:00pm (Keynote Speaker Joshua Thompson at 1:00pm).

With help from UNO and the Central Indiana Community Foundation (artist travel grant), Thompson has included a brief stop in Omaha to take part in this event. Open to the public, the program will include a blend of expressions from visual art, written & spoken word, podcasts, dance, performance art, videography, music & vocal performances. “By sharing Our Stories in the unique shapes they take,” Thompson said, “we learn about each other, about ourselves, and about our community as a whole.”
