Michael Moriarty
Host of Starlight Classics
I was first introduced to classical music through my mother, who played with the Omaha Symphony for over 50 years. I began the study of piano at age 8 and went on to learn the organ and euphonium while in middle and high school. After music study here at UNO I switched to broadcasting and communication in 1978, starting my broadcasting career with KVNO at that time. After several other commercial and public radio jobs I was hired by KVNO in 2003 as the host of Evening Classics. I have also worked as a middle school Library Paraprofessional as well and love working with young people. My current musical interest is the Hammered Dulcimer, which I enjoy very much, as well as a model railroad hobby that feeds my inner need to control an empire. I am very pleased to be a part of the KVNO team as host of Starlight Classics.
