April

Tom Becka and the Magic of Radio

Tom Becka was only a student when he worked at KVNO, but he has fond memories of his time here. Our thanks to Jeff Koterba for recording this interview and Gabriel Escalera for producing.

June

Otis Twelve – a Timeless Treasure

We can’t have an anniversary interview series without Otis Twelve! In this interview, Otis waxes philosophically about working at KVNO, the music and you, the listener.

August

KVNO Metro Arts Showcase

KVNO is featuring special programs on August 27th, our actual anniversary, that put the focus on the arts community in Omaha. Sherry Kennedy Brownrigg talks to the hosts and producers of the programs to give you a taste of what these great programs hold for listeners.

September

Anniversary Overture

KVNO commissioned noted young composer and former KVNO Classical Kid Winston Schneider to write a work for our 50th Anniversary. “Anniversary Overture” had its world premiere at the Omaha Symphony’s season opener September 23 and 24.
