Symphonic Connections Live

April 28th, 2026

Symphonic Connections Live, presented by KVNO and the Omaha Symphony, offers a refreshing opportunity to slow down and engage more deeply with classical music. Taking place May 21 at the Strauss Performing Arts Center, the event features Maestro Ernest Richardson in an interactive format that blends live performance with audience questions.

Unlike a traditional concert, this experience invites listeners into the music—exploring not just how it sounds, but what it means. Maestro Richardson uses the example of one submitted question about programmatic music, which will be illustrated through works by Vivaldi and Beethoven. In the Maestro’s answer and the symphony’s performance, audiences will gain a richer understanding of how composers evoke both the sounds and the feeling of the natural world.

The evening also includes a behind-the-scenes talk from the Omaha Symphony, a creativity session from Jeff Koterba and a relaxed, café-style gathering, creating space for connection among music lovers. Guests will leave with a deeper appreciation for the orchestra, a stronger connection to the artists, and a more personal relationship with the music itself.

More information and tickets to Symphonic Connections Live are available at KVNO.org.
