‘A Beethoven Evening’ with OCMS: Heritage Concert Series

January 29th, 2024

The Omaha Chamber Music Society is currently immersed in its inaugural season of the Heritage Concert Series. This Tuesday at 7 pm, in the Simon Concert Hall of the Omaha Conservatory of Music, the audience is invited to experience “A Beethoven Evening.”

Jay Wise, a member of OCMS and a longstanding trombonist with the Omaha Symphony, shares that attendees will be treated to additional compositions by Beethoven, some of which were not widely published during that period. The concert series’ music director, Thomas Kluge, who also serves as the principal viola for the Omaha Symphony, enjoys delving into the various periods of Beethoven when selecting repertoire.

Both Jay and Thomas possess expertise in the technical details of Beethoven’s compositions, but they emphasize that the audience should not feel intimidated by the wealth of information about these musical works. Instead, they encourage everyone to enjoy the rich experience and diverse range of Beethoven’s creations.
