Caitlin Cass: ‘The Suffrage Song’ Exhibit

April 1st, 2024

Caitlin Cass, Assistant Professor of Illustration, has immersed herself in the realms of writing and visual storytelling for numerous years. Her journey began in college, where she initially delved into the art of storytelling through comics. As she progressed through graduate school, her dedication to this art form only grew stronger.

Having already self-published books and maintained a bi-monthly comic periodical since 2009, Cass’s contributions to the world of illustration are both prolific and impactful. Some of her most recent works are currently on display for public viewing.

The inspiration behind Cass’s latest exhibition and accompanying book stems from the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage.

“The Suffrage Song” exhibition, currently housed at the Osborne Family Gallery at UNO, offers a glimpse into Cass’s project through images and readings from the book. Visitors have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the significant events of US history highlighted within the project.

Don’t miss the chance to explore “The Suffrage Song” exhibition, which will be open for viewing until May 9th. Furthermore, mark your calendars for June 4th, the release date of the accompanying book. To celebrate the launch, a special book reading event will take place at Joslyn Castle on June 17th.
