January 15th, 2024

Duane Adams is a cherished artist and integral member of the Artist Cooperative Gallery (ACG) nestled in the historic Old Market. Adams has been a part of the cooperative since its early days, contributing his artistic talents to its vibrant community. With a background in painting and drawing, Adams devoted an impressive 38 years to teaching high school in Griswold, Iowa, and later served as an adjunct professor at Iowa Community Western College. In retirement, he continues to actively engage in the arts, bringing his unique perspective to ACG.

A key figure in ACG’s creative journey, Adams has been instrumental in shaping the artistic landscape within the Old Market. As ACG approaches its 50th anniversary, Adams reflects on his diverse artistic ventures, including a recent foray into pottery. His experimentation with the intricate process of mixing clay with colors showcases a labor-intensive technique that captivates his creative focus.

Adams’ captivating works are on display at ACG, where new exhibitions are featured monthly. Operated entirely by dedicated volunteers, ACG ensures that all sales directly benefit the talented artists. To explore more of Duane Adams’ art and the vibrant community at ACG, visit [ACG website].
