Fiddler on the Roof Performing at the Bellevue Little Theatre
March 24th, 2026
Through the open doors of the Bellevue Little Theatre, echoes of folk music and heartbreaking ballads fill the air as their production of Fiddler on the Roof takes the stage. The story follows Tevye and his five daughters as they navigate displacement, modernity, and change. Director Dr. Laureen Pickle says, “I also want to make the characters very real. I want to make them relatable and not caricatures. And I think one of the traps that we fall into with Fiddler is that everybody’s seen it.”
The actor playing Tevye, Dave Campbell, spoke more about the cast of the show. Campbell says, “We’re surrounded by a lot of ringers, so I’m very fortunate in that whenever I turn my head, I’m talking to somebody who is very talented.” He adds that his own journey through fatherhood with his daughter helps inform his performance. Campbell finishes, stating, “It’s a dad show… and I think it’s a good first show. If you haven’t seen a lot of musicals or if you’re resistant to the concept of musicals, this one is really easy to take in.”
Fiddler on the Roof will be performing at the Bellevue Little Theatre until March 29. More information can be found at theblt.org.
