‘OCP’ Celebrates 100 Years with Dynamic Second Half of the Season

January 17th, 2025

The Omaha Community Playhouse’s 100th-anniversary celebration is in full swing, with the second half of the milestone season promising an action-packed lineup of productions, events, and community engagement activities.

Co-Artistic Director Alex Rodriguez expressed excitement about the ongoing season. “As the second half of the season unfolds, we’re thrilled to welcome returning talent, loyal patrons, and many new faces to the theater,” Rodriguez said. In his role, Rodriguez helps shape the creative vision of each production, focusing on everything from the overall aesthetic to the smallest details to ensure every story resonates with audiences.

One of the season’s highlights is the upcoming production of Waitress, a heartwarming musical that explores themes of friendship, love, and the power of human relationships. The story invites audiences on an emotional journey through its touching narrative and unforgettable songs.

The Omaha Community Playhouse will stage Waitress on the Hawks Mainstage from Jan. 26 to Feb. 16. Tickets and additional information are available at omahacommunityplayhouse.com.
