UNO Theatre Showcases Fall Musical

November 13th, 2023

University of Nebraska at Omaha is gearing up to open their first musical of the season. One that is a comedy but said to be a show people wouldn’t expect: Urinetown. D. Scott Glasser is a Professor of Theater at UNO and the director for Urinetown. He says the planning for a season at the theater is based off what will benefit the students most.

Urinetown is a musical that was created with the purpose of making the audience laugh. However, with all the laughs come important lessons lying with in the musical, as well.

The cast and crew have been hard at work preparing this musical, with rehearsals starting a couple months ago, shortly after the fall semester began. UNO Theatre expands their casting, encouraging community involvement within their shows.

Glasser says the reason Urinetown is being shown this season is because of all the different layers of learning this musical will provide the students. If you’re unsure what the show is about or what to expect, Glasser says that is the best mindset to be in when coming to see it.

Urinetown opens Friday, November 16. For more information about Urinetown or the remaining shows of the season, visit the Theatre’s page on unomaha.edu.
