Vesper Concerts Announces Season 38 Lineup
May 20th, 2026
KVNO Classical and the Vesper Concerts series have announced the upcoming 38th season, featuring a wide-ranging lineup of chamber music, solo recitals, and ensemble performances from internationally recognized artists and local talent.
According to Kristi Treu, Executive Director of Vesper Concerts, the new season will open in September with world-renowned pianist Emmanuel Ax, who will present a recital program featuring works by Chopin and Schubert. Ax has performed with major orchestras and at leading concert halls around the world.
In October, the series will host its annual outdoor concert featuring Project Trio, an eclectic Manhattan-based chamber group composed of flute, saxophone, and double bass. The event will feature a casual outdoor setting, with food trucks and audience seating encouraged using lawn chairs.
November’s concert will feature pianist Adam Hu, a Chinese-Canadian musician who recently relocated to Omaha from Canada via China. His program includes Brahms’ piano trio alongside string collaborators, as well as the U.S. premiere of a Canadian work titled A Simple Secret.
The season continues in January 2027 with cellist Sterling Elliott, an emerging international soloist performing alongside piano in a featured recital.
In February, Omaha-based flutist and piccoloist Christy Baird, a professor at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, returns to the series for a Valentine’s Day afternoon performance.
The season concludes in April with the Texas Guitar Quartet, known for reimagining large symphonic works for four guitars, alongside a program that also highlights music from Latin America.
All performances will take place at Presbyterian Church of the Cross and remain free to the public, though some events may have limited seating. Audience members are encouraged to stay informed through the Vesper Concerts website, newsletter, and social media channels, where updates, schedules, and performance media are regularly shared, including curated video playlists of past artists.
Season 38 continues the series’ mission of presenting accessible, high-quality live music experiences for the Omaha community.
