NOMAFEST

Omaha’s fastest-growing music festival is turning up the volume. NOMAFEST,
presented by North Omaha Music and Arts (NOMA), celebrates its fifth anniversary this
August with its most ambitious lineup yet—four days of electrifying performances,
masterclasses, and community programming featuring some of the most innovative
artists in funk, jazz, soul, and experimental music today.
NOMAFEST continues its tradition of honoring the rich jazz legacy of North 24th Street
with three dynamic concerts and an artist masterclass on Aug. 13–14 and Aug16 on the
NOMA (2510 N. 24th Street) stage.
Saturday night’s free outdoor concert at the Gene Leahy Mall will bring together three
extraordinary artists whose work spans funk, jazz, hip-hop, soul, and experimental
music.
Headlined by Memphis legends The Bar-Kays, widely recognized as founding fathers of
funk, the evening will also feature Grammy-winning bassist and creative innovator
MonoNeon and Grammy-nominated trumpeter Keyon Harrold. Together, these
acclaimed performers promise a dynamic, genre-defying celebration of musical
excellence, offering an unforgettable experience for families, students, and music lovers
from across the region.
