Omaha Community Playhouse’s Immersive Show: Late Nite Catechism
December 19th, 2025
As the year comes to a close, the Omaha Community Playhouse beckons audiences into the halls of the Howard Drew Theatre to present one of its final shows of the year, Late Nite Catechism. Late Nite Catechism is a one-woman immersive theatre production that blends scripted performance with audience interaction. Set in a catechism classroom, the show is run by a habit-wearing nun, Sister, who strictly oversees her classroom. Mary Carrick, director of marketing and public relations at the Omaha Community Playhouse, says, “…no two performances are the same.”
Due to this interactive style of theatre, each night feels fresh, as the conversation in Sister’s classroom is shaped by that evening’s audience. Mary Beth is the actress behind the role of Sister, bringing a heart of gold to the stern nun. Carrick comments, “She is from Chicago, and she’s been playing Sister for a long, long, long, long time.” This show provides audiences with a memorable experience to take home.
The production is unique within the Omaha Community Playhouse’s current season, breaking the barrier between performer and audience while offering lighthearted comedy. “We look to program work that offers something for everybody,” says Carrick. “I think those who love theater and the performing arts are going to love this show… and it’s really got something for everybody.”
Late Nite Catechism will be showing until December 21. More information found at omahaplayhouse.com.
