Dundee Marquee Brings Big-Screen Classics Back to Life
March 19th, 2026
Some films aren’t just watched, they’re experienced.
At Film Streams, a new series is inviting audiences to rediscover that experience. Dundee Marquee is a globetrotting, month-by-month celebration of cinema, bringing ten iconic films back to the big screen at the historic Dundee Theater.
The series, curated by Managing Director Casey Logan, highlights films that define what it means to go to the movies, stories driven by adventure, visual spectacle, and unforgettable characters.
The journey begins March 21 with The Adventures of Robin Hood, starring Errol Flynn in the role that made him a legend. Shot in vivid Technicolor, the film transforms the forests of Nottingham into a lush, cinematic playground, something that feels especially alive on the big screen.
From there, the series expands across genres and continents. The Wiz reimagines The Wizard of Oz with a vibrant blend of soul, gospel, and funk, featuring performances by Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, and Richard Pryor.
International cinema also plays a central role. Italy comes into focus with Cinema Paradiso, a love letter to moviegoing itself, while Persepolis offers a powerful coming-of-age story set against political upheaval in Iran.
Other selections highlight unforgettable partnerships. Thelma & Louise follows two women on a journey that becomes something far more complicated than a weekend escape. In Casablanca, Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman deliver one of cinema’s most iconic love stories.
And then there’s spectacle. Life of Pi brings audiences on a visually stunning journey across the ocean, while titles like North by Northwest, Charade, and Everything Everywhere All at Once round out a lineup that spans decades and styles.
Dundee Marquee builds on the success of the Dundee Theater’s centennial celebration, continuing a tradition that has drawn Omaha audiences together for generations.
But at its core, this series is about something simple: the shared experience of watching a film in a room full of people.
It’s the laughter that spreads across an audience, the silence during a powerful moment, the conversations that follow on the drive home. It’s the reminder that movies aren’t just stories on a screen, they’re something we experience together.
Each film in the series will screen just once per month, from March through December.
Because some movies deserve more than a small screen.
They deserve an audience.
