Former Kitty Clover factory finds new life as South Omaha arts hub

At the corner of 24th and Martha streets in South Omaha, a building once home to the world’s largest potato chip factory is getting a new purpose.

The former Kitty Clover factory is now home to Clover24, an arts and creative center working to preserve the building’s history while creating space for a new generation of artists and entrepreneurs.

John Paul, director of exhibitions and programming for Clover24, says the organization helped save the historic building and sees its future as an important space for the arts in Omaha.

The vision for Clover24 is rooted in the legacy of Kitty Clover, which grew from a local business into a company with a broader regional presence. Paul says the arts center hopes to follow a similar path, establishing itself locally while eventually attracting regional and national attention.

Artists and creative entrepreneurs are already using the space, with more creators expected to move into the building as renovations continue.

Clover24 also sees the arts center as an economic driver for South Omaha. By bringing artists, creative businesses and entrepreneurs together in the former factory, the organization hopes to create new opportunities while contributing to the neighborhood’s ongoing revitalization.

The project is part of a growing creative arts district around 24th Street, building on the neighborhood’s history while creating new opportunities for artists and entrepreneurs.
