Holiday Lights Are ‘On’ at The Benson Theater
December 11th, 2023
“Brigit Saint Brigit Theater: A Pillar of Omaha’s Artistic Heritage for Over 30 Years”
For three decades, Brigit Saint Brigit Theater has illuminated Omaha’s cultural scene. At the heart of this acclaimed venue stands Executive Director Murphy Scott Golfgar, a steadfast figure since its inception. Golfgar holds the theater close to his heart, regarding it as a hidden gem in the city’s artistic tapestry.
The theater’s origins trace back to Golfgar and the founder, Artistic Director Caty Kurz, who envisioned a space for authentic renditions of Shakespeare and other classics. Golfgar’s journey began as an actor with Brigit Saint Brigit Theater, but his path quickly evolved toward directing.
This year, the theater returns to the Bendon Theater with “Holiday Lights,” curated by Golfgar himself. Described as a seamless blend of humor, depth, and poignant moments amid the festive season, “Holiday Lights: Winter’s Wonderful Gifts” showcases audience favorites intertwined with locally inspired new creations.
Omaha can experience this enchanting production until Sunday, December 17, at The Benson Theater. For those seeking more details, visit the theater’s official website: https://www.bsbtheatre.com/lights23 or Benson Theater at: https://bensontheatre.org/event/holiday-lites-2023/
