Opera Outdoors Brings New Spin and New Talent to Stinson Park Stage

Kicking off its upcoming season, Opera Omaha is hosting its Opera Outdoors event at Stinson Park. The free concert, supported by many community partners, is a joyful show that provides access to opera throughout the Omaha community. Inspired by both operatic and non-operatic works, Josh Quinn, Head of Music and Associate Conductor with Opera Omaha, says, “It will be impossible for them to [not] be engaged… the characters are happy or expressing joy in some sort of facet. I think it will be a very special time.”

Alongside the outside performers coming to Omaha, the Opera Omaha Chorus will showcase the talent and variety of voices throughout the Omaha area. Many musicians and community members are dedicated to their craft. Quinn says, “I will say that Omaha has the most dedicated local musicians that I have met in any city that I’ve lived in. Some of the loveliest people, dearest friends that I’ve made, are here in the opera.”

With many excellent shows coming up for Opera Omaha, such as Will Liverman and La Bohème, Opera Outdoors is spearheading this season. Bringing inspiration from pop and jazz elements, this concert has a little bit of everything for all audiences. Quinn finishes by stating, “I hope that you leave curious, wanting to know more about opera…”
