Other Desert Cities Takes the Stage at Bellevue Little Theatre

January 20th, 2026

As winter sets in, the Bellevue Little Theatre seeks to transport audiences somewhere a little warmer with its upcoming production of Other Desert Cities. The story is a family dramedy about a novelist who returns to her family home in Palm Springs. Tensions arise when her parents and brother discover she has written a new book—a memoir about the family.

Director Adam J. Fulbright, who is directing Other Desert Cities, looks to uncover the truth within this tale. It is no mirage, as Fulbright states, “I always find it really weird when you’re watching a stage play and actors sound canned and fake. So my number one goal was that I wanted everything to be real—as real as possible.”

The show is comprised of a cast of five, each coming from different walks of life. “They’re wonderful. They’re hard workers,” says Fulbright. “It really is a show that is just so real, grounded, and nuanced.” The production takes a closer look at the differences and conflicts that form among family members and how individuals navigate those challenges.

Other Desert Cities will be showing through February 1. More information can be found at theblt.org.
