UNO Student Work Selected for Exclusive Gallery Exhibition

April 2nd, 2024

Students from University of Nebraska at Omaha Art Education and Studio Arts programs showcase their works, selected by Bart Vargas, and potentially earn scholarships. Bart Vargas is a visual artist, educator, and advocate based in Omaha.

After student work is submitted, the selection process begins. Rebecca Norris is the UNO Art Gallery Curator and Manager. She says the juror is usually a local professional. Students selected to showcase their work in this exhibition are given the opportunity to gain beneficial experience.

The UNO Gallery continues showcasing exhibitions like this simply to encourage student growth. It’s all student support that gets these exhibitions up and running.

The Juried Student Exhibition is a competitive selection process. Norris encourages students to keep submitting work every year, because there’s always the possibility they will be selected.

The Juried Student Art Exhibition is open now through Friday, April 5 at the UNO Gallery. There will be a closing reception and awards presentation taking place on April 5. To find out more about this exhibit and other upcoming installations, visit the UNO Gallery page on unomaha.edu.
