UNO Theatre Brings Little Women to the Weber Blackbox Stage
February 25th, 2026
The University of Nebraska at Omaha is taking to the stage with its upcoming production of Little Women. This play is a theatrical adaptation of the novel, featuring live music and an original score crafted by students at the university. The director of Little Women, Jacob Mann Christiansen, says, “I mean, as a director, you just sort of fall in love with all the scenes. That’s kind of your job, to find the nuggets of beauty and connection and what’s amazing about them.”
Being a retelling of the novel, this show consists of the core characters from the book such as Jo (Zoe Euteneuer), Beth (Marisa Pfeifer), Amy (Brenna Dostal), Meg (Thalia Lawson-Betum), and Laurie (Jacob Peacock). The cast, consisting of young actors, offers a new, energetic take on the story. “I love working with this cast,” says Brianna Linden, who plays Marmee in the show. “They are all amazing actresses on stage, and they’re very professional to work with.”
This production examines the ideas of change and identity. It looks into the roles that people play in life, as well as the nostalgia of the tale. Christiansen says, “Nothing is going to be the same tomorrow as it was yesterday. That is both very hard and can be very painful, and it can also open up incredible possibilities for connection, for embracing change, and seeing what comes next in our lives.”
UNO Theatre’s Little Women will be showing in the Weber Blackbox Theatre from February 26 until March 7. More information can be found at UNO Theatre on Instagram and Facebook.
