Celebrating Omaha’s Creative Spirit at the Kaneko Soirée
October 10th, 2025
The Kaneko has long been a cornerstone of creativity in the Omaha area, cultivating artistic expression of all kinds and blossoming into a vital cultural hub. On October 10th, the Kaneko will host its annual Soirée fundraising event — a celebration of the organization’s impact on the arts community and its ongoing mission to inspire.
Programming Manager Kimberly Faith Hickman reflects on the heart of the organization: “I was always so impressed with the openness of [the Kaneko’s] mission.”
With each gallery space open during the evening, the Soirée invites attendees into a curated world of beauty, innovation, and imagination. Guests will experience works by Bruce Beasley, music by Andy Akiho, a range of pieces from local Omaha artists, and selections from the personal collection of Ree and Jun Kaneko.
The evening also includes culinary contributions from chefs and restaurants across the community, celebrating the intersection of visual, musical, and culinary arts. “Anyone is welcome to the Soirée. It’s open to the community,” says Hickman. “It’s a mixture of local musicians and local chefs as well as out-of-town talent.”
The event supports the Kaneko’s broader mission of nurturing creativity in all its forms. “[The Kaneko’s] slogan is ‘an open space for the mind,’ and their mission is to celebrate creativity,” Hickman says. True to this mission, the Soirée encourages guests to look beyond the conventional and find inspiration in the world around them.
The Kaneko Soirée will take place on Friday, October 10th at 6:30 p.m. More information is available at thekaneko.org.
