KVNO’s Future is as Risk — Here’s How to Help
June 4th, 2025
KVNO is here for you 24/7, providing locally curated classical music and uplifting the local arts community. In the past year alone, we’ve supported 22 local arts events and brought you thoughtful coverage of the people and performances that shape our cultural community.
But these services are now under threat.
Congress is considering eliminating funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) — including funding already approved through 2027. If passed, the consequences for KVNO would be immediate and significant.
CPB funding covers about 10% of our budget, but its impact is far greater. It allows us to bring you national programs like listener favorites Exploring Music, Performance Today, and The Score. CPB also negotiates music licensing rights that keep our classical music programming affordable. Without that support, airing a single piece of music could cost KVNO thousands of dollars.
Losing this funding would force KVNO to either raise that money from listeners or make painful cuts to programming and support of the arts community.
Here’s how you can help right now:
- Contact your members of Congress and urge them to protect public media. Use this quick link to send your message: Urge Congress: Save Public Media
- Give to KVNO before June 30. A generous donor has offered a $20,000 challenge gift if 100 donors contribute by the end of day June 13. Here’s how to give now: Donate Online – KVNO
