Botanical Book Club: Of Time and Turtles

Got a love for books and the outdoors? Join fellow readers and nature enthusiasts as we explore various topics in our botanical book club.

This month, we will be reading 𝑂𝑓 𝑇𝑖𝑚𝑒 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑇𝑢𝑟𝑡𝑙𝑒𝑠 by Sy Montgomery. Considered by Jacob Brogan to be a book that “will make you want to be not a better human but a better animal”, this novel follows the stories of dedicated individuals who rescue and rehabilitate injured turtles, highlighting the animals’ remarkable resilience and capacity to heal. Through these inspiring narratives, the book encourages a more compassionate way of living that demonstrates respect for the animals we all share the world with.

We will meet for three sessions: March 25 from 6 to 7 p.m. (handout books and introductory discussion), April 8 and 22 from 6 to 8 p.m. Books will be given to participants at the first session. Classes will be held in-person and will move to Zoom in the event of inclement weather. Pre-registration is required at least one week in advance of the first session.
