Heavier Than Air is an experimental ensemble presenting video art by Shawn Ballarin with a live soundtrack by musician Kyle Scott.

This video installation explores the relationship between gesture, projection, and presence. Each figure, masked and filmed alone, performs gestures that evoke empathy through posture and movement. A live musician creates soundscapes that enhance the atmosphere and emotional impact of the piece.  The work examines how bodies communicate, highlighting how simple gestures can carry emotional meaning. The figures are projected in overlapping layers, creating interactions that reflect the complexity of human experience. These layered projections, along with images of objects, events, and environments, encourage viewers to interpret the work in their own way.
