TESSA FONTAINE is the author of The Red Grove, her debut novel,
which was published by FSG in May 2024 and named a best book of month from Amazon Editors and People Magazine; and The Electric Woman: A Memoir in Death-Defying Acts, a New York Times Editors’ Choice, Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writers pick, and best book of 2018 by Southern Living, Refinery29, Amazon Editors’, and The New York Post.
SARAH GERARD is the author of Carrie Carolyn Coco: My Friend, Her Murder, and an Obsession with the Unthinkable; the essay collection Sunshine State, a New York Times Critics’ and NPR Best Book of the Year, a finalist for the Southern Book Prize, and longlisted for the PEN/Diamonstein-Spielvogel Award; the novels True Love and Binary Star, a finalist for the Los Angeles Times First Fiction Prize; a coauthored art book, Recycle; and the
chapbook The Butter House. Her writing has appeared in the New York Times, Granta, Guernica, McSweeney’s, BOMB magazine, and more. She holds an MFA from The New School and is a graduate student in the criminal justice program at CU Denver, focusing on gender-based violence. She’s a private investigator.
JEWEL RODGERS is an interdisciplinary poet, performer, and visual artist from North Omaha. Ranked sixth in the nation at the BlackBerry Peach
Poetry Slam, representing the Nebraska Poetry Society, she is also a two-time nominee for Best Spoken Word Poet in Omaha. Additionally, Jewel is an urban engagement specialist, youth coach, and budding real estate developer. Alongside her artistic practice, she creates and maintains private parks in North Omaha for public use, working toward her long-term goal of co-creating the community through mindful spatial practice while using her poetry to educate and inspire others.
