  • Art Exhibit: Noticed. Pressed. Imprinted. by Holly Lukasiewicz

Lauritzen Gardens 100 Bancroft Street, Omaha, NE, United States

Art Exhibit: Noticed. Pressed. Imprinted. by Holly Lukasiewicz. Artist Statement. As a flower artist who is inspired by what is growing seasonally along the shores of the Missouri River in Omaha, Nebraska, I’ve appreciated deepening a connection with the natural shifts of time in nature by tuning into what is blooming locally. Pressing flowers has become a deeply intentional practice into noticing these gifts around us.

  • Butterfly Habitat by Albert Rhea

Lauritzen Gardens 100 Bancroft Street, Omaha, NE, United States

Butterfly Habitat by Albert Rhea. There are many butterflies–475 species alone in North America, making them the second largest group in the animal kingdom, second to beetles. And because of their numbers, we do not see their importance. Environmentalists know that because the butterfly is so fragile it is an important indicator of the entire ecosystem–and that includes humans.
