”1950-60s Italy” by Adrian Duran Sofia Cormack, flute; music by Daniel Dorff
MM graduate student Sofia will perform a piece for unaccompanied flute entitled “Songs of the Open Road” by the American composer Daniel Dorff in 2022, inspired by the poetry of Walt Whitman. It was chosen to abstractly tie into the idea of forced migration, being uprooted from one’s home, and embarking on a journey to the unknown.
