Art Seniors Participate in a Special Exhibition before Graduation
May 7th, 2024
As the 2024 Spring semester comes to an end at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, art students are showcasing their work in the UNO Gallery one final time before graduation. Along with another special show that only happens every couple of years.
Each of these shows take a different process to prepare for. Rebecca Norris is the Curator and manager for the gallery. She says the student shows are actually an expectation for the major. A lot of thought goes into planning the layout of this exhibition.
The ability to participate in this show provides an experience to students with hopes of preparing them for their upcoming career. The intent of the UNO Gallery is to create an academic and creative space that connects classroom and community. One of the students with work on display is ensuring that connection stays strong.
Norris credits all the hard workers at the Gallery for getting this show up and running. Everyone is invited to come experience the BFA Thesis & BASA Senior Exhibitions + Faculty/Staff Biennial open now through May 17. There will be a closing reception celebrating the graduating art students on Friday, May 17 from 5-7pm. For more information about the UNO Gallery, visit their page on unomaha.edu
