Molly Shannon and Susan Orlean in Omaha
September 8th, 2023
Since 1985, the Omaha Library Foundation has been supporting programs and services for the Omaha libraries across town. The Foundation has raised more than $10 million in private support for Omaha Public Library programs and services.
Ten years ago, the Foundation started the “Between the Lines” annual fundraiser. Wendy Townley, Executive Director for the Omaha Public Library Foundation, says this event has grown substantially. Guests for this year have a special connection to public libraries.
Author Susan Orlean largely writes nonfiction books. By coincidence, Molly and Susan grew up in Shaker Heights, Ohio.
Townley says that people at the fundraiser can expect a very casual conversation on stage from the authors structured to speak about the importance of libraries in the community. At the end, Molly and Susan will sign books in the lobby of the Holland Center. All the money raised that night would go back to the Omaha Public Library Foundation.
The Between the Lines Fundraiser with authors Molly Shannon and Susan Orlean is on Tuesdays September 26 at 6 p.m. For more information, you can visit https://www.omahalibraryfoundation.org/molly-shannon-and-susan-orlean
