The OFF Academy is a unique feature of the film festival not all attendees might be aware of, we are one of a handful of Film Festivals around the world to offer such unique programming to area young filmmakers. This is a chance for us to show off our academy and garner much needed support to make sure we can offer this service to our future filmmakers!

    From wordplay with the actual letters that comprise “BLACK,” to utilizing the expanse of shades of black house paint—including as Nightfall, Soot, Ebony Field, and Black Beauty—to posing the question, “If the color black had a sound, what would it be?,” Benjamin calls attention to the color’s deep historical and social resonance.
