Calculating Nature’s Beauty – 3-Day Camp (Ages 7-9)
Embark on a 3-day adventure at PACE’s Youth Summer Camp: Calculating Nature’s Beauty! This dynamic camp seamlessly merges math, design, and the beauty of nature, offering hands-on exploration for young minds. From uncovering Fibonacci secrets to crafting nature-inspired projects, campers engage in exciting activities, fostering a love for learning. Concluding with a grand showcase, families witness the intersection of math, design, and nature. Calculating Nature’s Beauty Camp condenses a comprehensive STEAM experience into three immersive days, cultivating a deeper appreciation for nature’s beauty and its mathematical wonders. Join us for a transformative summer of inspiration and creativity!
Day 1 – Unveiling Nature’s Mathematical Secrets:
– Introduction to Fibonacci sequences in flowers and pinecones.
– Discover the golden ratio in shells and sunflowers.
– Explore the math behind leaf venation patterns.
Day 2 – Design Inspired by Nature:
– Study how animals adapt to their environment and apply it to design challenges.
– Build structures inspired by natural engineering, such as beehives and spider webs.
– Integrate math into the design process for optimal efficiency.
Day 3 – Creating Art with Nature’s Math:
– Express mathematical patterns through artistic creations.
– Collaborate on a group art project combining biology and geometry.
– Reflect on the interconnectedness of math, design, and nature.
Friday Showcase in the Gallery:
– Culmination of art and culinary creations in a grand gallery showcase.
– Parents, family, and friends are invited to witness and celebrate the vibrant tapestry of indigenous cultures.

Daily Camp Schedule:
Drop-off (8:15 AM – 8:30 AM)
Morning Class Period (8:30 AM – 11:15 AM)
Lunch / Recess (11:30 AM – 12:30 PM)
Afternoon Class Period (12:45 PM – 3:15 PM)
Pick-Up (3:15 PM – 3:30 PM)
