Chromophilia: A Passion for Color
August 8 @ 10:00 am - August 31 @ 5:30 pm
“The sensation of color is a reverberation of light, originating on a surface of an object that then absorbs, reflects and resonates, and finally evolves into a tangible material phenomenon.” – Hella Jongerius.
An artist’s relationship to color is complex and multifaceted. Color plays a crucial role in art, as it can evoke emotions, set the mood, create depth and perspective, and convey symbolic meanings. Artists use color to express their thoughts, feelings, and ideas in their work. Tara Dawley, Rebecca Hermann, Susan Moore, Courtney Kenny Porto, Jill Rizzo, Katrina Swanson, Cassie Sullivan, and Jon Summers explore their relationship with color in Chromophilia: A Passion for Color. The show runs from August 9th through August 31st.
