The first day of spring is still 42 days away, but my favorite season starts in 2 days — that is Omaha Film Festival season.

The Omaha Film Festival (known as OFF) starts March 11th, and officially kicks off the countdown to its 20th season with this weekend’s OFF program selection announcement on Facebook live.

Megan McCoy: Bringing Fiber Art to Omaha
Art is one of many ways to express yourself, and for fiber artist Megan McCoy, art is a way to encourage thoughts about femininity.
McCoy’s interest in fiber art began while completing a master’s degree in textile design from Norwich University of the Arts, in England. After graduation, she returned to Omaha and continued her career as a fiber artist.

Nebraska Crossroads Music Festival Expands, Receives Prestigious Grant
The Nebraska Crossroads Music Festival, which began as the Lincoln Crossroads Music Festival in 2019, celebrates the state’s diverse cultural communities through world-class performances, interactive workshops, and unique collaborations.
In 2023, the festival expanded to Omaha to reach new audiences and has since become the region’s leading world music festival.

The museum has been a fixture on South 20th Street for decades, welcoming generations of metro-area children. Its iconic, colorful building was originally a car dealership, and the organization has long been planning to build a permanent home.
