Arts For Me! Exhibition & Opening Reception
May 7 @ 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm
Free

| Arts for ME! is an adapted arts education program housed at KANEKO, dedicated to providing meaningful creative experiences for students with intellectual and developmental challenges. disabilities. Founded by Erin Lundsford and developed in close partnership with glass artist Therman Statom, the program began at Westside High School and has since expanded to include Millard and Omaha Public Schools, reaching a growing community of students for whom access to serious arts education has not always been possible. This exhibition presents work made by Arts for ME! students during the current school year and is displayed at KANEKO.
The opening reception on May 7 invites the public to meet the student artists, experience the work firsthand, and witness what happens when young people are given the tools, the time, and the trust to make something of their own. Admission to the opening reception is free. |
